Founded in 1947, Air Algeria is the national flag carrier airline of Algeria.

Air Algeria operates scheduled international services covering 39 destinations in 28 countries in Europe, North America, Africa, and the Middle East. Likewise, it operates domestic services spanning 28 cities and towns, not to mention charter services catering to oil exploration and the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.

Air Algérie is a joint stock company that is wholly owned by the Algerian government.

The main base of Air Algérie is Houari Boumedienne Airport, Algiers

- 8 ATR 72-500
- 5 Boeing 737-600
- 14 Boeing 737-800

Algiers - ATR and the Algerian national airline Air Algérie announced today the signature of a contract for the sale of 4 ATR 72-500s. This agreement, valued at some US $ 82 million, has been inked in Algiers in the presence of Mr. Amar Tou, Algeria’s Minister of Transports.
