Libyan Airlines is the national flag carrier airline of Libya, incorporated in 1964 and commenced operations in October 1965 as Kingdom of Libya Airlines. subsequently, it had the name of Libyan Arab Airlines and Jamahiriya Libyan Arab Airlines and finally its current name: Libyan Airlines. It operates scheduled passenger and cargo services covering Libya, Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East (30 destinations). Its main base is Tripoli International Airport.

LAAHC  shareholders are four government entities: the Libyan National Social Fund (30%), Libyan National Investment Company (30%), Libya-Africa Investment Fund (25%), and the Libyan Foreign Investment Company (15%).

Paris, Amstelveen, working with Air France Consulting, the MRO is helping return Libyan Airlines  aircraft, damaged during the recent Libyan hostilities, to revenue service. Toronto, Bombardier Aerospace announced today that Tripoli-based Libyan African Aviation Holding Company has signed a firm order for three CRJ900 NextGen aircraft and has also taken options on an additional three CRJ900 NextGen aircraft.The aircraft will be operated by Libyan Airlines, a subsidiary company of Libyan African Aviation Holding Company.
