Joramco Celebrates the 10th Anniversary of Its Spinoff from its Privatization of Royal Jordanian

JorAMCo celebrated the 10th anniversary for the company's establishment and commencement of work under the JorAMCo brand name, the brand name traces its roots back to the year 2000 when at the Jordanian Government at the time started privatization of the public sector and JorAMCo was created as a spin off the privatization of the Royal Jordanian Maintenance and Engineering Department.

The company was then sold through an international bid to the UAE based private equity developing company Abraaj Capital who acquired 80 percent of the shares while the remaining 20 percent were retained by Royal Jordanian.

JorAMCo's privatization process was considered as a successful example for the privatization process that the Jordan Government started at the time. The rationale behind the process was attracting foreign investment to the country, enhancing the performance of potentially profitable companies and increase work opportunities or Jordanians.

JorAMCo and from its early days started a strategic and aggressive plan designed to induce growth and expansion in the company, these plans resulted in doubling size of facility and number of employees, the plan introduced new capability and new technologies to the company in addition to acquiring the needed tooling, training and electronic management tools that transformed JorAMCo in an international aircraft repair and maintenance provider.

Believing in necessity of efficiently qualifying JorAMCo's technicians and engineers, the company established an academy in association with the UK based Air Service Training (Engineering), Perth College - Scotland offering a training program for the company's future mechanics to provide them with the needed skills, certifications and training to work on today's modern aircraft types.
