Libyan Airlines is the national flag carrier airline of Libya, incorporated in 1964 and commenced operations in October 1965 as Kingdom of Libya Airlines. subsequently, it had the name of Libyan Arab Airlines and Jamahiriya Libyan Arab Airlines and finally its current name: Libyan Airlines. It operates scheduled passenger and cargo services covering Libya, Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East (30 destinations). Its main base is Tripoli International Airport. LAAHC shareholders are four government entities: the Libyan National Social Fund (30%), Libyan National Investment Company (30%), Libya-Africa Investment Fund (25%), and the Libyan Foreign Investment Company (15%). |

Tripoli, ATR and Libya’s flag carrier Libyan Airlines today signed a contract for the purchase of 2 ATR 42-500s, which will become the first ATR aircraft to be operated in the country.
