Libyan Airlines is the national flag carrier airline of Libya, incorporated in 1964 and commenced operations in October 1965 as Kingdom of Libya Airlines. subsequently, it had the name of Libyan Arab Airlines and Jamahiriya Libyan Arab Airlines and finally its current name: Libyan Airlines. It operates scheduled passenger and cargo services covering Libya, Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East (30 destinations). Its main base is Tripoli International Airport. LAAHC shareholders are four government entities: the Libyan National Social Fund (30%), Libyan National Investment Company (30%), Libya-Africa Investment Fund (25%), and the Libyan Foreign Investment Company (15%). |

Paris, Amstelveen, working with Air France Consulting, the MRO is helping return Libyan Airlines aircraft, damaged during the recent Libyan hostilities, to revenue service. In a first for the two groups, Libyan Airlines and AFI KLM E&M have signed a long-term contract covering component support (pool access and repairs) and maintenance checks for the Libyan carrier’s A320 and ATR 42-500 fleets. In view of the developments in Libya, the EU Council today lifted the
freeze on the financial assets and economic resources of 28 Libyan
entities. Today's decision amends Council decision 2011/137/CFSP of 28 February,
which introduced a travel ban and an assets freeze, while granting the
