British Gulf International was initially incorporated in São Tome and Principe in 2000. In 2002 the airlines activity was relocated to the Middle East. Based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, the airline operates charter services from Sharjah and Dubai covering countries in the Arabian Gulf and the Middle East, in addition to Somalia, Djibouti, and Afghanistan. Its main base is Sharjah International Airport, with a hub at Dubai International Airport. Scheduled cargo destinations include Djibouti, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Kuwait and Qatar. British Gulf International also offers ad hoc charter and ACMI services. Staff members approx 200.
