airBaltic, Etihad Airways to Extend Codeshare Agreement

Latvian flag carrier airBaltic and Etihad Airways have agreed to extend the codeshare agreement to cover routes from Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich to Abu Dhabi and Riga.

Subject to government approvals, the codeshare routes will have airBaltic and Etihad Airways 37 connecting return flights per week between Riga and Abu Dhabi, with both airlines assigning BT (airBaltic) and EY (Etihad Airways) flight codes on services to and from these cities.

airBaltic currently assigns the BT flight code on Etihad Airways flights between Abu Dhabi and Muscat, and Etihad Airways currently assigns its EY flight code on airBaltic services beyond Riga to 10 northern European cities.  They include:  Bergen, Billund, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, Stavanger, Stockholm, Tallinn, Turku, and Vilnius.

Subject to additional government approvals, Etihad Airways plans to assigns its EY flight code on airBaltic services beyond Riga to Kiev, Tbilisi, Palanga, and Gothenburg.

Air Baltic Corporation (airBaltic) is a joint stock company that was established in 1995. The primary shareholder is Latvian state with 99.8 percent of stock. The airBaltic fleet consists of 25 aircraft – five Boeing 737-500, eight Boeing 737-300 and twelve Bombardier Q400Next Gen. airBaltic offers nonstop flights from three Baltic capital cities – Riga, Vilnius, and Tallinn.
