Saudia Cargo Launches a Pharmaceuticals Transportation Service

The airline upgraded Riyadh cargo facilities and some origin points to handle the temperature controlled containers
JEDDAH - Saudia Cargo have launched on May 15th a service for the transportation of temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals, named Pharma.2.World Active.

Using air temperature containers, to maintain internal temperatures required for the transport of pharmaceutical and life science products.

Nabil Khojah, Saudia Cargo's chief executive officer said: “We are very excited to be launching the first phase of Pharma.2.World Active,” “This new product will enable us to offer a reliable, high quality service to the pharmaceutical and life science industries for which temperature management is crucial.”

Saudia Cargo customers will have access to the latest air cargo containers specifically designed for pharmaceutical and life science products thanks to an agreement with Envirotainer and CSafe, under which they can lease a choice of active containers from selected origin points on the Saudia Cargo network.

The service features ready-to-lease containers, temperature control ranging from -20˚C to +25˚C; an assigned product manager, handling procedures; temperature, battery, re-icing checks and customs clearance and delivery.
 
Pharma.2.World Active may be booked from local Saudia Cargo sales offices, will initially be available to/from Riyadh with additional stations planned in future.

Saudi Airlines Cargo operates a fleet of 15 freighters and sells the belly-capacity on 145 passenger aircraft for Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier Saudia, covers 225 destinations with charter flight from a fleet of leased aircraft.
