Revealed Royal Jordanian Airlines' Market Share in Jordan is 60 Percent of Exported and 40 Percent of Imported Cargo

Amman, during a Ramadan Iftar banquet held yesterday for Jordan's cargo sales agents, Muath Majali Royal Jordanian's vice president cargo said the airline transported more than sixty percent of the air cargo exported globally from Jordan and forty percent of imported cargo to Jordan.

According to the airline,the cargo terminal was recently upgraded to increase the cargo capacity, and the elevation transportation vehicles (ETV) that handle operation of shipments were overhauled. A new cargo system was introduced and a courier warehouse was recently established. In addition, the customs procedures have been improved, providing customers services around the clock.

Majali expressed optimism for the coming phase, saying it will be one of growth and improvement of the freight business, in spite of the political instability in the region and the global financial crisis. Added to these challenges are the increasing fuel prices and competitiveness, as new cargo carriers in the region have great impact on the business.
