MRO Europe, Amsterdam, Sabena technics, has announced it signed a five-year services contract with Donbassaero, one of Ukraine, for its fleet of nine Airbus A320.
Within the scope if the contract, Sabena technics will provide Donbassaero with component support, logistics services, spares pool access and implementation of a "main base kit." According to the Ukrainian operator it plans at aims at increasing its Airbus A320 fleet. In the coming few years.
Rodolphe Marchais Sabena technics Group's chairman & chief executive officer said, “We are honored to have the opportunity to accompany Donbassaero in its operations and I am confident that our company, through its experience in Airbus aircraft maintenance, will be able to bring value-added support to Donbassaero.”
Donbassaero Airline was established in 1933 as Donetsk Aviation Enterprise. In 2007 was restructured and renamed Donbassaero Airlines Ltd. It is based in Donetsk airport, the capital of the mine region in Ukraine. It specializes in scheduled and charter air transportation, as well as providing aircraft on lease.
In December 2010 "Donbassaero" became the first Ukrainian airline certified by the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine under the new requirements – in accordance with European regulations JAR-OPS1 (JAR-OPS1 standards include the availability and implementation of a detailed program to ensure safe and efficient activity of the airline).
