Cleveland, the diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced it has been selected by Embraer Defense and Security to supply the on-board inert gas generation system for the KC-390 military transport aircraft. The contract value has not been disclosed.

Eaton’s experience on many of the world civilian and military aircraft platforms will assist Embraer achieve the latest regulatory certification requirements for the KC-390, including FAA inerting system certification

"EmbraerEmbraer KC-390 is a twin turbofan powered medium-lift military transport under development with scheduled fist flight 2014. Capable of being refueled in flight and also quickly configured as a tanker, the KC-390 uses dual HUD, and a full-featured mission system, including accurate computed air release point (CARP).

It is equipped with a complete self-protection system and is fully NVG compatible.
