Paris, Amstelveen, Air France Industries and KLM Engineering & Maintenance, (AFI KLM E&M), Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group and Thales have won a study phase contract covering up to fourteen French Air Force's Lockheed C-130 Hercules aircraft.
The study phase contract, is worth 1.25m Euros with the Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA) procurement agency. Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group benefit from AFI KLM E&M experience and relationship with the French Ministry of Defense.
According to a press statement, AFI KLM E&M will act in an advisory capacity to Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group in its relations with the French authorities and draft the technical certification dossier.
The study phase involves the design of an avionics ‘glass cockpit’ upgrade and the integration of modifications and role equipment to increase the tactical capabilities of up to 14 of the French Air Force’s C-130Hs. It will also provide technical reports outlining potential solutions to mitigate risk and provide a priced proposal for the engineering and modification installation phases.
