Vista, CA Sandel Avionics Inc., a privately held integrated display systems manufacturer has signed an agreement with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to supply their helicopter multihazard avoidance system that alerts against terrain, obstacles and wires. Sandel's HeliTAWS panel-mount solution will be installed on KAI’s new helicopter production in Korea.
KAI is South Korea's national aerospace company established in 1999 with the consolidation of Samsung Aerospace, Daewoo Heavy Industries and Hyundai Space and Aircraft Company.
The system enables pilots to take off, cruise, hover and land at off-airport locations, easy-to-interpret, color, high-resolution display for 3D terrain, obstacles, flight plan and traffic overlay according to the manufacturer
