Lufthansa Consulting has been commissioned by the Hellenic Republic (Greece) to advice in developing public-private partnership arrangements for 37 regional airports. The project is part of a larger restructuring effort by the Greek Government to privatize state companies and infrastructure.
The project includes international airports like Thessaloniki, prominent island airports and tourist gateways like Rhodes, Corfu, Kos, Mykonos, Santorini and Zakynthos, in addition to smaller airports currently handling low traffic.
Lufthansa Consulting will be the lead air traffic adviser, technical advisory partners are Doxiadis Associates (Athens, Greece) and Alanna Consulting Group (Flourtown, PA, U.S.) together with financial and legal advisory teams. The tasks assigned to the traffic and technical advisory consortium covers:
- Assessments of infrastructure
- Operations
- Commercial and service quality performance at all airports
- Preparation of air traffic forecasts
- Master investment program
- Strategic national airport policy
- Prepare the tender documentation (at a later phase)
