Geneva, the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) today announced the French-Italian aircraft manufacturer of regional aircraft ATR ( Aerei da Trasporto Regionale / Avions de Transport RégionaAerei da Trasporto Regionale or Avions de Transport Régional) have joined to its Board of Director.
Other airframe companies Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer are on the Board of ATAG.
Paul Steele, ATAG Executive Director said: “ATR bring to the Board their expertise as one of the most significant turboprop aircraft manufacturers and as a leader in designing efficient regional aircraft. They have been an associate member for the last year and are now being welcomed to the Board as a full funding member of ATAG. This rounds out the top five aircraft manufacturers worldwide to be on the Board.
“ATAG is the forum where the industry can come together and work towards common solutions to common issues. We are the only group that represents the broad spectrum of the air transport sector at a global level. As we have demonstrated with the global aviation commitments to action on climate change, taking common approaches to common issues brings real unity and focus to the industry. We are pleased that ATR is formally joining these efforts at a senior level.”

The announcement was made during the Aviation & Environment Summit in Geneva. The event brings together over 300 leaders in the aviation industry to discuss the latest issues in the sustainable development of the aviation sector.
