SYDNEY, Australia, Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa has been awarded the 2012 Condé Traveler World Savers. The World Savers Awards recognizes travel companies from around the world for their leadership in social responsibility.
“Condé Nast Traveler is one of the most respected and influential publications in travel. As the only Australian tourism product to receive this award for the second consecutive year and among such esteemed company is a truly remarkable honor,” said Joost Heymeijer, general manager, Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa.
"At the heart of our business is our ongoing commitment to conservation. From opening we have outperformed expectations to deliver an enriching experience without compromising our surroundings,” continued Heymeijer.
“We were the first hotel in the world to achieve carbon neutral certification and we’ve maintained this status for three years in a row. We believe that under these guiding principles we have created a unique and world-class proposition.
“It is encouraging to see there are more of our peers joining ranks in taking more socially responsible actions. Not only are these contributions protecting our iconic natural landscapes, it is proving increasingly popular amongst travelers.

Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa has also been awarded with Best Environmental Initiative at the 2012 Australian Hotels Association (AHA) National Awards for Excellence, and has been named Best Regional Hotel/Resort, Australian Lodge and Environmental Program at the 2012 HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence.
