DUBAI, U.A.E, The first group of Emirates’ UAE national managers have completed their leadership training courses at Rolls-Royce in the UK. The Emirates and Rolls-Royce leadership and development program is part of a long-term agreement with Rolls-Royce, signed at the Dubai Airshow in November 2011.
The first group of 15 UAE national managers who has traveled to the UK in April this year to attend the first week of the course at the Rolls-Royce learning and career development center in Derby have has now completed the course after a second week of training at Corpus Christi College, Oxford University.
“This is a collaboration between two great companies, Emirates and Rolls-Royce, to design a course to help develop managers from different departments and disciplines across the airline who have the potential to be the future leaders of Emirates,” said Nasser Bin Kherbash, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president, hr development & employee services. “We would like to thank Rolls-Royce for helping us to create this opportunity for our UAE nationals, added Kherbash.”
Masooma Hassan, Emirates’ vice president, national development and recruitment, who has worked closely with Rolls-Royce to develop the program, also joined the group in the UK.
“This is the first of what we plan will be many Emirates and Rolls-Royce Leadership and Development Program,” said Phil Harris, Rolls-Royce, senior vice president, customer business – civil aerospace. “This program underscores the longstanding partnership between our two companies and we are proud to help develop the Emirati leaders who will drive Emirates’ future success,” added Harris.
Emirates carries Rolls-Royce engines on several aircraft types in its fleet; Airbus A330-200, Airbus A340-500 and Boeing 777-300.
