Dubai, Emirates SkyCargo the freight division of Emirates, announced the launch of daily cargo flights to Washington DC (Washington Dulles International Airport) to commence on the 12th September 2012 utilizing a Boeing 777-300 ER. This shall be the seventh U.S. destination to the airline's global network.

Etihad Airways announed its recruitment drive in the Sultanate of Oman has accepted the induction of 18 Omani cadet pilots. The airline's cadet pilot program launched in June 2007, in partnership with Horizon Flight Academy, the latter currently has 161 cadets pilots under training to be fully qualified airliner pilots.

Amman, Royal Jordanian announced it received two aircraft from a total order placed with Dublin-based lessor AWAS, early 2011 of seven Airbus A321 and A320. The intention is to replace the current six Airbus A320s and A321s with seven new aircraft of the same type (that includes an additional A320), the delivered aircraft are powered by IAE V2500 engines (International Aero Engines).
