Boeing and Virgin Australia Announce Firm Order for 23 737 MAX Aircraft

Brisbane, Australia, Boeing and Virgin Australia today finalized a firm order for 23 fuel-efficient 737 MAX airplanes with options for four additional 737 MAX airplanes. The ordered aircraft shall be powered by the CFM International LEAP-1B engines.

Los Angeles, International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), a wholly owned subsidiary of American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG), announced today the purchase and leaseback transaction with Emirates airline for four new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled to begin this month and will be completed by January 2013.

Etihad Airways announced its cargo division, Etihad Cargo, transported 175,000 tonnes of cargo in the first six months of 2012, a 21 per cent increase over the same period last year. The figure marks an additional 30,000 tonnes compared to first half of 2011 with revenues 13 per cent higher. Etihad Cargo operates to 87 destinations worldwide.
