Chicargo, Boeing (NYSE: BA) announced today an order by United Continental Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: UAL) and its wholly owned subsidiary, United Air Lines, Inc., for 150 737 airplanes, including 100 of the new 737 MAX 9. The deal, worth $14.7 billion at list prices, also includes 50 Next Generation 737-900ERs (Extended-Range).

The combined value of the engine order, together with a long-term service agreement, is approximately US$5.0 billion at list price.

Farnborough Air Show, CFM International has announced during the recent weeks orders and commitments valuing US$12.6 billion at list price covering 922 new engines marking a total of 1,792 engines for 2012. According the engine manufacturer, the demand for the CFM56 remains strong while the LEAP engines continues to show momentum, with the total orders for the latter to date stands at 3,752 engines.

Farnborough Air Show, the Brazilian low-cost carrier GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. has joined the engine manufacturer maintenance compliance program TRUEngine, qualifying the CFM56-7B engines in its fleet for the program. The TRUEngine designation serves as a method for identifying engines with CFM-approved content and facilitates product support of the engine system.
