KUWAIT – Jazeera Airways released its October 2013 operational performance report today, which showed that the airline on-time performance (OTP) during the month of October 2013, with a performance of 94.55 percent, as rated by the US-based flight tracker, FlightStats.
The October 2013 report, also includes figures from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA), that show a 5 percent increase in total flown passengers from October last year driven by an increase in flown passengers to the popular destinations of Dubai, Beirut, Amman and Bahrain.
Jazeera Airways saw a 47 percent increase in flown passengers on the Kuwait-Beirut route in October, compared to the same month last year. The airline captured a 40 percent market share on the route in October 2013.
The report also shows that Jazeera Airways was the leading airline serving the Kuwait-Amman route during that month with a 41 percent market share. The airline’s flown passengers increased by 38 percent from October 2012.
On the Kuwait-Dubai route, Jazeera Airways saw a 4 percent increase in flown passengers from October last year. The airline captured a 13 percent market share on the route in October 2013.
Flown passengers on the Kuwait-Bahrain route increased by 17 percent, as the airline captured a 12 percent market share.
The report also shows that Jazeera Airways was again the leading airline serving the Egyptian cities of Sharm El Sheikh with a 45 percent market share, Luxor with a 71 percent market share, and Sohag with a 42 percent market share.
For the rest of its Egyptian routes, Jazeera Airways captured a 24 percent market share on the Kuwait-Cairo route, a 17 percent market share on the Kuwait-Alexandria route, and a 48 percent market share on the Kuwait-Assiut route.
On routes serving Saudi Arabia, Jazeera Airways captured a 13 percent market share on the Kuwait-Jeddah route, a 5 percent increase from its market share in October 2012. The airline captured an 11 percent market share on the Kuwait-Riyadh route.
