ORYX Jet Granted UK’s CAA Approval for the Electronic Flight Bag for its Hawker 900xp Aircraft

EBACE, Geneva, Oryx Jet, the Biggin Hill based aircraft management and charter company, was recently granted the electronic flight bag (EFB) approval from the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority - CAA for use on its Hawker 900XP aircraft.

EFB systems are a paperless system on the flight deck, powered by the Apple's iPad. The main features of EFB cover:

  • Electronic Display providing the Pilot's with Situational Awareness both in the air and on the ground;
  • A reduction in weight as paper charts are no longer required to be carried on the aircraft;
  • A cost saving to the company as the paper charts subscription is no longer necessary;
  • A reduction in man hours.

The award of the EFB approval is the culmination of eighteen months of work by Oryx Jetʼs operations team and chief pilot.
