AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, announced the purchase of one GrandNew by Naviera Mistral SA based in Santiago del Chile. This helicopter will be used to perform VIP/corporate transport missions. The aircraft is scheduled to be delivered to its customer within this year.
This order marks the addition of a GrandNew to the previously delivered Grand aircraft operated by a private customer in Chile and expands the presence of AgustaWestland light helicopters with one AW119Ke for VIP transport and four AW109 Powers already in service with the Carabineros de Chile plus one recently ordered to perform law enforcement missions.
Orders for more than 300 helicopters from the Grand series have been placed by over 180 customers in almost 40 countries worldwide, in order to perform many tasks including VIP/corporate and passenger transport, EMS, SAR, electronic newsgathering, harbour pilot shuttle, maritime patrol and water pollution monitoring.
