Dubai, the Emirates Group, announced it will provide 750 jobs opportunities in 2012 for the nationals of the United Arab Emirates asserting its commitment to the declared “Emiratisation” initiative. The job offerings will cover Emirates Airlines, dnata, the group’s subsidiary companies and in all departments.

Emirates Group’s Emiratisation drive will focus on attracting qualified nationals to work as pilots, engineers, cabin crew, in management positions and service jobs at the Dubai International Airport.

Nasser bin Kharbash, senior vice president, national human resources development and services said " Emirates Airlines is witnessing continued growth, we are embarking on major expansion, both in the Dubai International Airport at the inauguration of Concourse early next year, expanding the global network of the airline.

"The Emirates Group effort is at the forefront of efforts to develop national human resources, we have a special section for the recruitment and development of nationals through programs that include various activities and departments." .

Emirates Group has over 60 thousand employees currently, U.A.E. nationals occupy approximately 24 percent of senior management positions, and 10 percent of middle management in the group. While there are 360 pilots of U.A.E. nationality, including cadet pilots and 375 graduates of the Emirates Engineering program.

Emiratisation (or Emiratization) is an initiative by the government of the United Arab Emirates to employ its nationals in a meaningful and efficient manner in both the public and private sectors.

The program has been in place for more than a decade, progress is felt in the public sector while the private sector has not been as responsive. It has been noticed recently the acceleration in the implementation of the government sponsored Emiratisation initiative.
