DUBAI- The Emirates Group celebrated the UAE’s 41st National Day at its headquarters in Dubai. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline & Group, planted a ‘Union Tree' commemorating the formation of the United Arab Emirates in front of the Emirates Group headquarters.
The tree was planted in line with ‘The Union Tree Initiative’ spearheaded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice president and prime minister and ruler of Dubai. This initiative was launched on November 15 as part of the National Day celebrations and tens of thousands of trees have been planted ever since.
"The celebrations we have seen today demonstrate our pride and loyalty towards the state and we are pleased to see our employees who belong to hundreds of different nationalities from around the world gather today to celebrate the National Day; honouring the UAE which has become their home and adopted country,” said Sheikh Ahmed.
The tree planting event was witnessed by a number of senior Emirates Airline and dnata officials including: Ali Mubarak al Soori, executive vice president chairman’s office, facilities and project management; Ismail Ali Albanna, executive vice president dnata; Nabil Sultan, divisional senior vice president revenue optimisation and distribution; Adnan Kazim, divisional senior vice president planning and research; Mohammed Al Khaja senior vice president crew operations and contingency planning; ahmed khoory, senior vice president commercial operations West Asia and Indian Ocean; and Salem Obaidalla, senior vice president commercial operations Far East and Australasia.
