Copa Airlines, an airline in Latin America, and Lufthansa Technik AG have signed a five-year total component maintenance (TCM) contract for the airline's entire Boeing 737NG fleet, currently consisting of more than 60 Boeing 737-700 and -800 aircraft.
The services will also cover the aircraft due to be delivered to Copa Airlines in the next few years.
Ahmad R. Zamany, vice president of technical operations, Copa Airlines said: "We were pleased with Lufthansa Technik's ability to customize its services to the individual needs of a growing carrier such as Copa, enhancing our already high degree of reliability."
Joerg Femerling, director sales Latin America and Caribbean from Lufthansa Technik, said: "We are extremely proud that one of the leading carriers in Latin America has chosen our technical services for components. With our global MRO network we are prepared to guarantee Copa Airlines the high quality support they can expect from us."
Lufthansa Technik will support Copa Airlines at its main base of operations, at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, Panama. The Lufthansa Technik office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida will coordinate the customer support.
Maintenance, repair and overhaul services will be conducted at Lufthansa Technik's component centers in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Hamburg, Germany.
