LEVALLOIS, France – Sofema, the French aerospace and defense supplier, today announced an agreement with the Egyptian Air Force (EAF) to supply the EAF's Lockheed Martin F‐16 fighter aircraft with Michelin tires.
This is the first order after the distribution partnership announced in July 2013 between Michelin and Sofema, two French companies were selected to supply a U.S. made fighter aircraft.
Guillaume Giscard d’Estaing, Sofema's president, said: “Organised with the support of Sofema’s sales network in Egypt, this order is the first step in a long term relationship with one of the most important Air Forces in the region.
“This agreement is a mark of trust which highlights Sofema’s capacity to meet strict specifications and requirements, already confirmed by our participation to the elite international circle of Michelin’s Authorised Distributors.”
Sofema, shareholders include major French aerospace and defense corporations: EADS, Safran ( DCNS, Thales, NEXTER SYSTEMS , Dassault Aviation, Renault Trucks and others (undisclosed).
