ENGLEWOOD, COLO. – Jeppesen, a part of Boeing Digital Aviation, and Widerøe, a Scandinavian regional carrier, recently signed a new five-year electronic flight bag (EFB) service agreement.
Widerøe, a Jeppesen customer, will transition from traditional paper-based flight and operations materials, to implement the digital Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro solutions delivered through Apple's iPad and Aviobook EFB software.
Helge Anonsen, deputy director flight operations and EFB administrator, said: “We have trusted Jeppesen data for many years in paper form and we now look forward to transitioning to fully digital solutions for our operations at Widerøe.
“Providing service to international and unique domestic destinations creates operational challenges that Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro tools will simplify, offering data-driven information in real time in the flight deck.”
Aviobook EFB software allows for transition of Jeppesen flight data and information between all mobile and desktop airline systems. Flight information with FliteDeck Pro is displayed per the preference of the operator.
Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management, added: “Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro on iPad will provide Widerøe with all of the flight and operations information they are accustomed to in paper form, but they now can access in dynamic ways in digital form to increase efficiency.
“Optimization of airline operations is critical in today’s commercial aviation business environment and we are pleased to provide these services for Widerøe, a customer with a long-standing, successful history with Jeppesen.”
