Russian Helicopters a subsidiary of Oboronprom and part of State Corporation Rostec, announced, the Mi-28N Night Hunter combat helicopter, entered service with the Russian Defense Ministry under an order signed by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The Mi-28N Night Hunter helicopter, made by Russian Helicopters, developed by Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant at the Rosvertol aviation plant is in operation with the Russian Armed Forces since 2005.
Alexander Mikheev, Russian Helicopters' chief executive officer said: "The fact that the Defense Ministry has officially accepted the Mi-28N testifies to the fact that the Night Hunter meets the requirements for a combat helicopter, has passed all the necessary tests, and is ready to enter into service with the Russian Air Force.
"Russian Helicopters companies are not only successfully fulfilling the state defense order, they are continuously striving to improve and modernize combat helicopters, and thereby to strengthen our country's defenses."
The export model is known as the Mi-28NE Night Hunter, while a pilot training version the Mi-28N with dual controls was produced completing its first flight on 9 August 2013.
