Description- Manage IT systems for the flydubai Operations Department (Engineering, Flight Ops, NCC, Network Planning, Crew Scheduling, Training, Quality Assurance, Safety and Security) suite of IT applications and related interfaces to support business continuity as per the agreed Service Level Agreements.
Major Areas of Responsibility- Actively participate in identifying and planning of strategic initiatives, along with Senior Manager – IT Business and section/department heads.
- Support and deliver on initiatives from the Business Plan and Technology strategy leveraging re-use, eliminating duplicate components, architectural design and use of innovative products.
- Identify opportunities for further enhancements and define refinements to standards and processes.
- Management of all software releases for flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems.
- Management of all outage for flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems and ensure timely approval from affected department heads.
- Manage conflicts within change management for flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems.
- Ensure that all IT processes are followed and enforced where applicable.
- Manage application vendor relationships with global and virtual teams and third parties on software development or support issues.
- Manage Service Level Agreements for Flight Ops IT systems according to the agreed Tier definitions and propose corrective actions on major deviations.
- Analyse Application load balancing and performance tuning results and propose areas for improvements.
- Ensure that application backups are successful and ensure that necessary fail over tests are carried out at agreed intervals.
- Manage the selection of suitable IT solutions for flydubai
- Prepare monthly SLA compliance report for each of the IT systems for the respective department heads of Engineering, Flight Ops, NCC, Network Planning, Crew Scheduling, Training, Quality Assurance, Safety and Security.
- Actively participate in the monthly reviews of IT services with department heads, along with Senior Manager – IT Business.

Primary Objectives:- Manage the development of business requirement and business case documentation for Business initiated IT projects
- Demonstrate initiative to continuously explore areas for automation improvements across designated departments.
- Critically review functional solution design documentation for Business initiated IT projects to ensure that expected business objectives will be obtained.
- Manage the evaluation of business problems related to ‘Operations’ IT systems and review the following:
- Impact assessments
- Cost/time estimates
- Solution option papers
- E2E solution designs (IT and Process)
- Component solution designs
- Manage the overall business and systems analysis for flydubai ‘Operations’ department and related systems.
- SME for support and build teams on flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems and interfacing systems, using candidate’s knowledge, experience and research-based analysis to identify the optimal solution.
- Manage qualitative and quantitative measurement of operational performances, workloads and processes
- Ensure that business processes and service level requirements/agreements are in place for flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems and periodically reviewed.
- Business process documentation and re-engineering for flydubai Operations department and their related systems.
- Manage Tier 2 & 3 support for flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems, specifically AIMS (Flight Ops and Crew Scheduling) Flywize (Flight Planning) AMOS (Engineering and Maintenance) and Sabre Airflite (Flight Scheduling) to ensure that IT solutions are effective and offers business continuity.
- Manage emergency fixes to address critical issues and obtain timely approvals from respective departments for any outage required.
- Periodically review daily IT operations report, analyse root cause analysis of problems, provide resolution and business impact assessments of major production issues/defects as and when required.
- Manage project team members (Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, Product Managers, etc.) to coordinate and lead interfaces with other groups (e.g. Network, QA, Operations, Engineering etc)
- Manage requirements sessions including use of interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, and using the system under analysis
- Critically review all forms of requirements (e.g. functional, performance, usability, compliance, regulatory, technical)
- Review the impacts to business process and systems through impact analysis of new requirements and solution designs
- Develop a work plan for the year for each department (Engineering, Flight Ops, NCC, Network Planning, Crew Scheduling, Training, Quality Assurance, Safety and Security) and ensure that all commitments are met as per the agreed prioritisation.
- Manage Project Managers / project leads to implement the agreed upon vision & help drive the future roadmaps
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how flydubai IT can partner with flydubai ‘Operations’ department business team members in achieving revenue and profit goals.
- Be the trusted IT advisor for automation needs of flydubai Operations’ departments.
- Work closely with IT management to offer cost effective solutions and explore ways to improve IT’s role in flydubai as ‘Trusted partner’.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills.
- Excellent communication skills – ability to clearly communicate to business partners as well as technical audiences.
- An ability to manage with onshore/offshore teams, and communicate using virtual communication tools (phone, conferencing, online meeting).
- Demonstrated ability to solve and document complex software design issues/concepts.
- Ability to understand business systems from all levels, from the "big picture" enterprise-level view to the low level technical view.
- Excellent process orientation, planning, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans.

Education and Experience
- Degree or equivalent experience: BS or BA degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Years of experience: 10 – 15 year of system analysis and design.
- 5 years supporting Tier 1 and 2 aviation IT systems.
- 10 years system/process automation of systems supporting Airline ‘Operations’ departments.
- Proven track record on working closely with section and department heads of Airline Operations.
- 3 years working in an Agile delivery environment

Work Environment
- Based in the flydubai headquarters. Some duty travel will be required to flydubai stations and vendor locations.
