Description- Manage, support, maintain and enhance the flydubai Operations Department (Engineering, Flight Ops, NCC, Network Planning, Crew Scheduling, Training, Quality Assurance, Safety and Security) suite of IT applications and related interfaces.
Major Areas of Responsibility- Support and deliver on initiatives from the Business Plan and Technology strategy leveraging re-use, eliminating duplicative components, architectural design and use of innovative products.
- Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards and processes.
- Management of all software releases for flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems.
- Management of all outage for flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems.
- Configuration management for flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems.
- Change management for flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems.
- Application maintenance for flydubai ‘Operations’ department IT systems.
- Testing of all code changes (enhancements and bug fixes).
- Application vendor liason - Build and maintain relationship with global and virtual teams and third parties on software development or support issues.
- Service Level Agreements maintenance for Flight Ops IT systems.
- Perform daily database check.
- Application load balancing and performance tuning.
- Monitor the status of application backup.
- Actively participate in the selection of suitable IT solutions to flydubai.
- Maintenance of all application interfaces.
Primary Objectives:
- Develop business requirement and business case documentation for Business initiated IT projects.
- Develop functional solution design documentation for Business initiated IT projects.
- Evaluate business problems related to Flight Ops IT systems and produce:
- Impact assessments.
- Cost/time estimates.
- Solution option papers.
- E2E solution designs (IT and Process).
- Component solution designs.
- Drive the overall business and systems analysis for flydubai ‘Operations’ Dept. and related systems. Work on programs or releases as assigned, working with other agile team members, while also contributing individually to achieve results.
- SME for Support and Build Teams on flydubai ‘Operations’ Dept. IT systems and interfacing systems, using candidate’s knowledge, experience and research-based analysis to identify the optimal solution.
- Qualitative and quantitative measurement of operational performances, workloads and processes.
- Develop and introduce new business processes and service level requirements/agreements for flydubai ‘Operations’ Dept. IT systems.
- Business process documentation and re-engineering for flydubai Operations department and their related systems.
- Tier 2 & 3 support for flydubai ‘Operations’ Dept. IT systems, specifically AIMS (Flight Ops and Crew Scheduling) Flywize (Flight Planning) AMOS (Engineering and Maintenance) and Sabre Airflite (Flight Scheduling).
- Plan and coordinate emergency fixes.
- Review and provide feedback on the daily IT operations report, perform root cause analysis of problems, provide resolution and business impact assessments of major production issues/defects.
- Work closely with project team members (Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, Product Managers, etc.) to coordinate and lead interfaces with other groups (e.g. Network, QA, Operations, Engineering etc).
- Lead requirements sessions including use of interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, and using the system under analysis.
- Successfully elicit and document all forms of requirements (e.g. functional, performance, usability, compliance, regulatory, technical).
- Identify impacts to business process and systems through impact analysis of new requirements and solution designs.
- Create key artifacts including use cases, user stories, functional specifications, security role matrices, user acceptance criteria, and configuration specification.
- Develop a work plan and execute against the plan to meet all commitments.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to implement the agreed upon vision & help drive the future roadmaps.

- Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how flydubai IT can partner with flydubai ‘Operations’ Department business team members in achieving revenue and profit goals.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills.
- Excellent communication skills – ability to clearly communicate to business partners as well as technical audiences.
- An ability to work with onshore/offshore teams, and communicate using virtual communication tools (phone, conferencing, online meeting).
- Demonstrated ability to solve and document complex software design issues/concepts.
- Ability to understand business systems from all levels, from the "big picture" enterprise-level view to the low level technical view.
- Excellent process orientation, planning, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex and fast-paced organization.
- Creative in thinking/approach while partnering with, Product, Business, and CTO offices, etc. to determine solutions that further the business and align with business plans and technology strategies, while keeping in mind reliability, security, flexibility, and cost.
- Significant practical experience in a cross-platform, multi-site environments.

Education and Experience
- Degree or equivalent experience: BS or BA degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Years of experience: 7 - 10 year of system analysis and design.
- 5 years supporting Tier 1 and 2 aviation IT systems.
- 5 years system/process automation of systems supporting Airline ‘Operations’ departments.
- 3 years working in an Agile delivery environment.
Specialized training in:
- ITIL
- COBIT
- Work Environment
Based in flydubai headquaters. Some duty travel will be required to flydubai stations and vendor locations.
