- We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Field Service Engineer to be based in Jeddah (KAIA Airport, Saudi Arabia)
Purpose of the role:
- Provide engineering support for installation test, operation, or maintenance of equipment in a Field assignment. Provide cost and schedule estimates on complicated engineering programs.
- Provide technical expertise for all Mechanical matters in support of other departments and less experienced employees by performing the following duties personally. Supports all non-mechanical Engineering activities
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the development, evaluation or review of plans and criteria for activities.
- Assists in the Development and Maintenance of documents and records.
- Works together with the other Field Service Engineer to maintain all local FCN, FR, FB and TCA records.
- Plans and manages projects and/or programs related to mechanical activities. Supports projects and/or programs related to non-mechanical activities.
- Writes project/program plan(s), recommendation(s) and/or finding(s) for Mechanical activities. Participates in the writing project/program plan(s), recommendation(s) and/or finding(s) for non-mechanical activities.
- Work involves conventional Field Engineering practices, but includes a variety of complex features such as complicated installation requirements, application of new or special materials and difficult coordination requirements.
- Carries out testing programs on mechanical systems and components concurrent with design and fabrication to better evaluate and minimize future problems. Supports non-mechanical testing programs.
- Develops and monitors fault tracking processes and trend analyses on mechanical activities. Supports processes for non-mechanical activities.
- Develops alternate solutions to existing mechanical Field Engineering problems. Performs or delegates all detail work necessary to determine the best solutions. Evaluates proposals and makes recommendations on sound engineering principles and practical considerations. Participates in non-Mechanical problem troubleshooting activities.
- Prepare cost and schedule estimates on projects in area of assignment.
- Performs failure analysis on mechanical parts returned for repair.
- Design special tools required for field maintenance or modifications.
- Lead special teams or task forces sent to the Field for complex installation, test or retrofit programs.
- Prepare complex field change notices or those that require extensive coordination between permanent on-site personnel, Operations, Programs and the customer. Review proposed designs for maintainability.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum BS degree in related engineering discipline, Mechanical preferred.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Technical expert on operation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of all product lines.
- Experience with vehicle systems required.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong communication skills
- Good analytical skills.
