Cathay Pacific is now looking for an Infrastructure Development Lead for our Information Management Department. The right candidate will design overall hardware and software infrastructure and environment needed to meet application development and operational requirements of complex and cross-departmental / cross domains projects / programmes.
This role is available to Hongkong residents or to those who have th right to work in Hongkong.
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocate resources and responsibilities within own area to deliver required results around cost, quality and time
- Develop performance and competency of team through expert coaching and mentoring of technical team members
- Use appropriate processes and tools to create systems, or services, on a technical infrastructure which supports business demands, that are resilient, secure and highly available
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives within own area in line with High Performing Team
- Ensure Infrastructure team fully understand, follow and champion technology standards and patterns as defined within Information Management; champion use of such standards, procedures and best practices within team
- Monitor and ensure compliance to corporate control standards for quality and security
- Take responsibility for implementation of technical part of plans, focusing on requirements and planning to meet or exceed internal client expectations
- Interface with other IT areas, sharing technical knowledge and expertise, and resolving issues as necessary, using specialist information to enable others to deliver
- Provide technical leadership and escalation support for resolution of incidents and problems within staging and test environments
- Provide expert level support in area of technical specialization, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution of challenges
- Proactively draw out all types of requirements of IT Infrastructure from stakeholders by using variety of elicitation techniques (e.g. interviewing, modelling, and surveying)
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details and distinguish users requests from underlying business problems
- Obtain requirements signoff from both business and Information Management (IM) Stakeholders
- Communicate proposed design solutions to stakeholders and help to guide decisions regarding tradeoffs that impact requirements
- To provide technical advice to Information Management (IM) colleagues on the use of the IT Infrastructure and integration of various business applications onto the Cathay Pacific Infrastructure
- Show initiative and makes time available to ensure general technical competencies and specializations are kept up-to-date in line with industry developments for self and team
- Collaborate with other IM domains to drive business and technology innovation
- Keep abreast of the corporate strategy, business plan and latest industrial trends
Job Requirements :- Technical degree holder with minimum of 10 years IT experience, at least 5 years of IT Infrastructure experience and 3 years of team lead responsibility
- Ability to allocate and supervise delivery of work within a small team (5 to 10) of technical resources
- Proven experience of leading team, and be able to demonstrate effective coaching and mentoring style
- Proven technical management and specialist experience of working in a complex IT infrastructure environment
- Professional competency in at least one technical specialization, with broad understanding of other current and emerging technologies
- Solid experience of developing solutions and making decisions for team with only minimal management guidance and supervision
- Track record of building and maintaining relationships at a senior level and have an ability to influence at all levels
- Ability to listen and articulate ideas verbally, and in the written form, to a broad range of audiences; ability to ask probing questions and deliver presentations
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills, leveraging both logic and creativity; strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills; ability to identify patterns and generate informed ideas
- Focus on end user’s or customer’s needs; ability to set expectations and understand end user behaviour
- Ability and willingness to proactively accept and drive change to accomplish positive collective outcomes
- Ability to understand strategy and align tactical and strategic work in a well-balanced way to achieve results
