Nile Air was incorporated in May 2008, It is currently operating 2 leased Airbus A320s (from Aercap) commenced operations on July and November 2009 in anticipation of the delivery of the ordered A320's (order placed during Dubai Air Show 2007 for 9 A320's aircraft). Nile Air planned to position its self as the second scheduled operator in Egypt and at onetime had considered floating 30% of its shares on the Cairo Stock Exchange. The airline intends to serve various Gulf destinations with passenger, freight and airmail services, currently operates schedule flights to major cities in Iraq, while a service to Saudi Cities was launched recently.
