Karthago Airlines was established in 2001 as a privately-owned charter airline operating services between Tunisia and Europe. It is jointly owned by the Karthago Group (58 %), banks, insurers, and tour trade investors (42%). Karthago Group is majority owned by Belhassen Trabelsi a Tunisian businessman &  the brother of Leïla Ben Ali, wife of former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, who also became the CEO of Nouvelair in 2008 and owns 65% of KoralBlue Airlines.

Karthago Airlines: main base is Djerba-Zarzis Airport, with hubs at Tunis-Carthage International Airport and Habib Bourguiba International Airport, Monastir

Karthago Airlines fleet of aircraft consist of:  although at one time it had an all Boeing 737-300 fleet of 5 but currently it is reduced to one 737-300 with the hull age of 21 years.
