Horizon International Flight Academy is licensed by General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates, was incorporated in 2003 providing helicopter, fixed wing pilot training, university validated degrees and to train students to a European Joint Aviation Authority (JAA) standard curriculum. Set in Al Ain International Airport and purpose built for flight training, Horizon also has a satellite branch in Um Al Quwain. It is also the academy of choice for Etihad Airways’ cadet program.
Headquartered in Switzerland with offices in Zurich and Abu Dhabi, Mubadala Aerospace launched Sanad Aero Solutions in early 2010 as an industry focused financial services company to provide leasing and management of spare components and engines to the global airline industry. The company provide airlines with solutiuons to monetize existing assets, secure scalable inventory solutions and access the full spectrum of world class Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) and technical services offered by Mubadala’s global MRO network, which includes Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT) and SR Technics.
Initial contracts, worth more than AED 4.8 billion (US$ 1.3 billion) have been signed with partners, including STRATA’s first direct work package from Airbus. Manufacturing is expected to start by Q4 2010.
