Jazeera Airways Takes Delivery of Another Airbus A320 Aircraft

Freedom Town, Kuwait, Jazeera Airways Group today announced it has received a new Airbus A320 aircraft from the manufacturer’s A320 facility in Hamburg, Germany. The company has taken delivery of 12 Airbus A320s since 2005 from a total order of 15 aircraft of the same type.
The remaining three aircraft on order are scheduled for delivery
in 2013 and 2014. Jazeera Airways Group Chairman Marwan Boodai said, “We are excited about receiving our 12th aircraft. This is indeed a milestone for the company, as we continue to pursue our gradual growth strategy in line with market demand.”
Established in 2005, Jazeera Airways Group is a Kuwait Stock Exchange-listed company. The company’s current fleet of 12 Airbus A320s ar equally distributed between its airline business, Jazeera Airways, and its fully-owned leasing business, Sahaab Aircraft Leasing. Sahaab Aircraft Leasing has assets placed with Virgin America, SriLankan Airlines, and Jazeera Airways.
In 2011 the airline carried 1.2 million passengers in total across its network that includes high-demand business, leisure, family, and weekend destinations such as Dubai, Bahrain, Beirut, Alexandria, Amman, Damascus, Istanbul, Sharm El Sheikh, Assiut, Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Luxor, Mashhad, Sohag, Jeddah, Riyadh and Cairo.
There are over 5,000 A320 aircraft in operation by airlines worldwide and over 3,000 aircraft scheduled for delivery over the coming years.
