AFI KLM E&M and Afriqiyah Airways Resume Cooperation
Wednesday, 21 December 2011
Paris, Amstelveen, the 2008 contract between AFI KLM E&M and Afriqiyah Airways has been reactivated following an amendment signed in November this year. The agreement still involves pool access and component repairs for the Libyan carrier’s A320 and A330 fleets. The contract includes the maintenance checks on these same aircraft.
The cooperation between the two groups has been in place for several years. In addition to component support for its 14-strong fleet of A319s and A320s, and for its two A330s, Afriqiyah Airways had already made use of AFI KLM E&M services in 2007 for assembly line oversight of its first two A320s during construction in Toulouse.
Satisfaction with the services on offer prior to the Libyan conflict, plus the special ties between the two companies, are now being continued, therefore, with the reactivation and extension of the contract originally signed in 2008.
Rammah Ettir, CEO of Afriqiyah Airways, said he was “delighted with the resumption of relations with AFI KLM E&M, which reflects the continuation of the choice we made in 2008.”
