Berlin, Germany, Qatar Airways and Recaro Aircraft
Seating signed a contract for the delivery of "several thousand" seats
for the airline’s B787 and A350 aircraft. This was announced during the travel trade show ITB Berlin held from March 7 to 11, 2012. The order covers the company's Comfort Line 3620 (CL3620) line of seats. With Qatar Airways emphasis on cabin interiors' Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker said “This is why we chose the Recaro CL3620 – a seat that sets new standards in ergonomics and design for long-haul flights. The CL3620 proves that comfortable travel with more living space in economy class is possible.”
“The contract for this new order, which was signed last year, is a continuation of the successful cooperation between our two companies”, explains Recaro Aircraft Seating CEO Axel Kahsnitz.
As the launch customer, Qatar first introduced the CL3620 in their single-aisle fleet in 2009. Recaro Aircraft Seating is present with economy class products in all aircraft and business class products in nearly all single-aisle as well as some wide-body aircraft operated by Qatar Airways
