Emirates Airline and Group Announce its Commitment to Further Extend the Recruitment of United Arab Emirates Citizens

Dubai, the Emirates Group, has announced it is expanding the commitment to provide job opportunities and careers to Emirati citizens, with a particular emphasis on cabin crew offerings. The recruitment drive is under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emirates Group's chairman & chief executive.

Abdulaziz Al Ali, Emirates' executive vice president human resources said, “The United Arab Emirates has a long history, one with which the Emirates Group is intrinsically linked. The Emirates Group knows that its future success must be aligned with the integration of UAE nationals into all levels of the organisation.

“Under the guidance of His Highness Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emirates solidifies its commitment to the career development of promising UAE citizens.”

The Emirates Group has revealed it has allocated "a substantial budget" for implementing the Emiratisation* program covering : 

  • Cadet pilot and cabin crew program
  • Licensed aircraft maintenance program (Emirates Engineering) 
  • National high school program, covering a diverse range of functions such as; Sky Cargo, dnata's airport services, IT, sales, group security and facilities. 
  • English language trainee program
  • Diploma graduate training program 
  • Graduate training program (National Higher Diploma / Bachelor) for HR, Corporate communications, performance development, industry travel,  D&LM, commercial operations, airport services, IT , finance, dnata's travel business, hotel & resort, CASA, yield management and flight operations 
  • Commercial outstations program

According to the airline, 35 per cent of Emirates' senior management, 12 per cent of its cockpit crew, aircraft licensed engineers and mechanics are UAE citizens. 

* Emiratisation is an official initiative by the government of the United Arab Emirates to employ its citizens in a meaningful and efficient manner in both the public and private sectors
