Emirates Airline Announce it will Start Daily Flights to Phuket, Thailand

Dubai, Emirate announced it will start a daily flight service to Phuket from 10th December in 2012. Phuket, the largest island in Thailand located in the Andaman Sea, will become Emirates’ second destination in Thailand.

Operated by a three-class Airbus aircraft, flight EK378 will depart Dubai at 12:45hrs and arrive at Phuket International Airport at 21:55hrs. The return flight, EK379 will depart at 00:35hrs the following day and arrive at Dubai International Airport at 04:35hrs. 

Tim Clark, Emirates Airline's president said, “Emirates is looking forward to the launch of our non-stop, daily service to Phuket, which will be just in time for the holiday season. We have always had a strong affiliation with Thailand and have been operating flights to Bangkok since 1990.

“Thailand is an important market for Emirates, we currently operate four daily flights between Dubai and Bangkok, including one with our Airbus A380 aircraft. We are confident that Phuket will prove a popular destination for our passengers, especially those from the UAE, Middle East and Europe.”

Phuket will become the 15th route launch for the airline this year and the second in South East Asia following on from Ho Chi Minh City in June.

Phuket  is a city located in the southeast of Phuket Island, Thailand. It is the capital of the Phuket Province, covering all of the island. As of 2007 the city has a population of 75,573 people. It covers the subdistricts (tambon) Talat Yai (Thai: ตลาดใหญ่) and Talat Nuea (Thai: ตลาดเหนือ) of Mueang Phuket dis
 Phuket features a tropical monsoon climate. Due to its proximity to the equator, in the course of the year, there is little variation in temperatures. The city has an average annual high of 32°C (90°F) and an annual low of 24°C (75°F). Phuket has a dry season that runs from December through March and a wet season that covers the other eight months. However, like many cities that feature a tropical monsoon climate, Phuket sees some precipitation even during its dry season. Phuket averages roughly 2300 mm (92 in.) of rain annually
