European Commission Update List of Air Carriers Subject to an Operating Ban

Brussels, The European Commission has adopted today the 17th update of the list of airlines banned in the European Union. Some airlines – including four all-cargo air carriers from Indonesia and one air carrier from Ukraine – have been removed from the list as safety concerns have been satisfactorily addressed. Boeing Names Jeffrey Johnson New Leader for Middle East

Chicago, The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) today named Jeffrey Johnson as president of Boeing Middle East. Johnson succeeds Paul Kinscherff, who has been appointed chief financial officer for international finance. Johnson will be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and report to Shep Hill, president of Boeing International and senior vice president of Business Development and Strategy.

Tokyo, The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced the aviation safety performance for 2010 showing that the year’s accident rate for Western-built jet aircraft as the lowest in aviation history. The 2010 global accident rate (measured in hull losses per million flights of Western-built jet aircraft) was 0.61. ALAFCO post a net profit of KD 21.8 million

Kuwait City, ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company announced its financial results for the first quarter of the current fiscal year that ended 31 December 2010.  The company earned a net profit of KD 21.8 million during the period, increasing around ten fold compared to KD 2.3 million reported during the same period last year.
