Oman Aviation Services was in incorporated as a (joint stock company, SAOG Société Anonyme Omanaise Générale),  subsequently in 1993 Oman Air was formed as the airline subsidiary of its parent company and commenced commercial scheduled flight operations. Oman Air is the national flag carrier of Oman. Based in Muscat, (Muscat International Airport) capital of Oman, it operates both domestic and international passenger services to 41 destinations, in addition to providing local air taxi and charter flights.

Oman Air to Launch a New Daily Flight Service to Tehran, Iran Using an Embraer 175 Regional Jet

Oman Air have announced it will launch starting 1st September 2012 a new daily service between Muscat and Tehran, the capital of Islamic Republic of Iran.
