São José dos Campos,  Two EMBRAER 190 jets have been delivered this month to Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under a newly ratified agreement with Jetscape, Inc., an aircraft leasing company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, U.S This delivery comes just seven months after the carrier’s first acceptance of two EMBRAER 170 jets, last March.

“We are happy that Gulf Air has chosen to add two EMBRAER 190 jets to its existing fleet of EMBRAER 170s,” said Paulo César de Souza e Silva, Embraer Executive Vice President, Airline Market. “Benefiting from the unparalleled flexibility, commonality and low operating costs of the E-Jets, Gulf Air will now be able to combine the 96-seat EMBRAER 190s on its mid-density routes with conventional 130- to 160-seat narrowbody aircraft on high-density routes, offering their demanding passengers, on both aircraft, the same high service level.”

Gulf Air’s EMBRAER 190 jets are intended to provide regional and medium-haul services from its Bahrain Airport hub. Configured in a dual-class layout, featuring 12 seats in business class and 84 in economy, the aircraft is equipped with a state-of-the-art, individual In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) system for maximum cabin convenience.

“The combination of the EMBRAER 170 and the EMBRAER 190 jets in Gulf Air’s fleet will give us greater flexibility to right-size aircraft to meet route demands and ensure optimum comfort for our passengers,” said Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer, Samer Majali. “This marks a significant achievement for our expansion program, reinforcing the company’s position as the carrier with the largest number of Middle East connections.”

“We are delighted to welcome Gulf Air, Bahrain’s flag carrier, as a new Jetscape customer. With these deliveries, Gulf Air becomes Jetscape’s first EMBRAER 190 customer in the rapidly growing Middle East aviation market,” said John Evans, Jetscape’s Chairman and CEO. “We appreciate Gulf Air’s trust in Jetscape, and we are also grateful for Embraer’s cooperation to enable the successful completion of this transaction.”
