Barfield, a Sabena technics company, has announced the extension of its contract with SATENA, “Servicio Aéreo à Territorios Nacionales”, one of Colombia’s regional airlines, to cover three additional ATR42-500 and ATR72-500.
Barfield’s Airline programs division, in charge of managing power by the hour contracts, will be providing to SATENA:
- nose-to-tail component support, including engines LRU´s and propellers,
- pool access,
- and main base inventory located in Bogotá, Colombia.
SATENA, owned by the Colombian government, has been undergoing fleet modernization for the past few years, integrating aircraft types such as Embraer 170 and ATR42-500 and ATR72-500. Its purpose is to keep on developing lines operated in regions of strong topography and to serve in those places where there were no commercial airlines flying.
Frederic Denise, Barfield’s chief operating officer said,“This contract extension with SATENA reaffirms the trust the Colombian operator put in Barfield two years ago as a service provider of choice for their ATR fleet."
Rodolphe Marchais, chairman and chief executive officer of Sabena technics added, “Sabena technics is proud to have supported Barfield in developing its expertise on regional aircraft types. This amendment with SATENA is another step forward for us in the region.”
