Lufthansa Consulting Assisted ECAir - Equatorial Congo Airlines to Launch and Operate its First International Route

The national flag carrier of the Republic of the Congo, ECAir (Equatorial Congo Airlines), inaugurated its first international route from the country’s capital Brazzaville to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport on 24th August 2012. It is a three weekly frequency flight service operated by a Boeing 757-200 aircraft.

Lufthansa Consulting has been assisting ECAir since its start-up entering the service September 2011. The German consulting firm managed the complete start-up process preparation including the development of the business plan, network and fleet structure, the overall design concept and adherence to international high quality and safety requirements. Enabling the the airline to operate according to European Aviation Safety Agency EASA standards in the Republic of the Congo.

Lufthansa Consulting also assisted in the development and launch of a domestic route between Brazzaville and the port city of Pointe-Noire and the membership of African Airlines Association - AFRAA.

The consultancy project covered the implementation of a reservation and e-retail system utilizing Amadeus Altéa Inventory with IATA-compliant 100% electronic tickets. Also the introduction of a frequent flyers program.
