Qatar Airways and Emirates Expected to Place Major Orders

The leading Arabic daily newspaper in Abu Dhabi (Al Etihad) today reported sources in the aviation industry, Qatar Airways, Emirates Airlines and the Kuwaiti aircraft leasing corporation (ALAFCO) will announce substantial orders during the Dubai Air Show.
Qatar Airways shall place orders worth $ 6.5 billion to acquire 50 aircraft A-320neo and five aircraft A380. While Emirates Airlines is still negotiating to place an order not less than 30 and be as much as 50 Boeing 777 aircraft. Total value expected to be worth to be between $ 8.5 and $ 14.5 billion dollars.
Although Airbus and Boeing, declined to comment. The new Chairman of ALAFCO Ahmed Al Zabin confirmed his company is in talks with Airbus to improve the terms of the agreement to acquire 30 aircraft A320 neo announced during the Paris Air Show earlier this year.
