Dubai, Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced today at the Dubai Airshow the delivery of a Citation Sovereign business jet to Arab Wings of Jordan. Founded in 1975, Arab Wings is the oldest-established executive air charter operator in the Middle East.

The company flies a diverse fleet of business jets which already includes a Citation CJ1+, delivered in the summer of 2008.

Arab Wings’ general manager Mr. Ahmad Abu Ghazaleh said: “The Sovereign is a proven aircraft in the demanding conditions of the Middle East and will be a very valuable addition to our fleet.”

Trevor Esling, Cessna’s vice president, International Sales, added: “Arab Wings was the first operator to articulate a clear vision of the potential of business aviation in the Middle East.

“We’re delighted to see a Sovereign in the Arab Wings fleet. The Sovereign has a strong track record in charter operations and is very popular in the Middle East. The aircraft is well-suited to the region’s needs, offering an all-around balanced platform for customers who travel across the Middle East and into western Europe. Sovereigns are spacious, both in cabin and baggage area, and very competitive in terms of price.

Furthermore, the aircraft has strong ‘hot and high’ capabilities which are ideal for the Middle Eastern climate.”
