Royal Jordanian Board Appoints an Interim President and Chief Executive

Amman - The Royal Jordanian board of directors, on October 26, appointed for a transitional period of three months captain Suleiman Obeidat a board member, interim president and chief executive officer of Royal Jordanian effective October 27, 2015.

The board of directors accepted the resignation of the current president and chief executive captain Haitham Misto.

Obeidat was chief commissioner of the Jordan Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission between 2007 and 2010, director general of the Jordan Civil Aviation Authority between 2004 and 2007, and from 2000 to 2005, the head of the management board of the Jordan Airline Training and Simulation (JATS).

In the Amman based airline, Obeidat occupied the position of deputy president and chief technical officer between 2002 and 2004, and vice president of flight operations from 2000 till 2002. He also held a number of managerial and technical positions in Royal Jordanian flight operations department since he joined the airline in 1984.

Obeidat was a pilot in the Royal Jordanian Air Force between 1965 and 1983 and holds a BSc in military science.
