Jazeera Airways Secures Approval to Operate to Al Najaf Following Kuwait-Iraq Bilateral Talks

Kuwait, following the bilateral discussions between the governments of Kuwait and Iraq, Jazeera Airways announced today it secured rights to operate Kuwait-Al Najaf route with plans to launch the route within the next six months.

Jazeera Airways, which currently operates 18 non-stop routes in the Middle East from Kuwait, will be the first Kuwaiti airline to operate a scheduled service between Kuwait and a city in Iraq.

The bilateral discussions also granted access to Kuwaiti airlines to operate to other Iraqi cities, including Mosul, Baghdad, Arbil and others.

Incorporated in 2005, Jazeera Airways Group is a Kuwait Stock Exchange-listed company. In 2011 the airline carried 1.2 million passengers in total across its network that includes business, leisure, family, and weekend destinations that includes Dubai, Bahrain, Beirut, Alexandria, Amman, Damascus, Istanbul, Sharm El Sheikh, Assiut, Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Luxor, Mashhad, Sohag, Jeddah, Riyadh and Cairo.
